Description: | Peter Miller has been at the forefront of the music scene since the early sixties, beginning his professional career in 1961 at Decca records in London, England.
Actually, his recording career began even earlier in 1958 when he engineered, wrote, and produced a six song album right out of his own home.
During the sixties Pete's performing career looks like a who's-who of legendary performers, playing over 100 dates with the Beatles, 20 with the Rolling Stones and sharing bills with the Dave Clark Five, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Dusty Springfield, Englebert Humperdinck, the Shadows, the Animals, The Who, the Byrds, Donovan, Gene Vincent, the Kinks, Cream, Stevie Winwood, Lonnie Donegan, Rod Stewart, Freddie and the Dreamers, Cilla Black, Billy J. Kramer and many many others.
During this period Peter recorded dozens of records as engineer, producer, performer, and songwriter for Decca, Columbia, Pye, Phillips, Polydor and other majorr record companies. As a songwriter, over 200 of his songs have been published by top publishing houses in Britain and the U.S.
Peter maintains contact with many of the legendary performers from the old days and keeps an ongoing relationship with major record labels both in the USA and Europe. He continues to operate his own 22 Records, an indpendent label he formed in 1974.
He left England in 1969 and shipped his entire recording studio to San Francisco where he found himself besieged with requests to teach others his skills. Peter willingly shared his knowledge with anyone who was genuinely interested in his work so naturally he began teaching the art of audio recording. This venture blossomed into AIA and some of his early students are now instructors at the institute. |
